Terri Thoman | Fine Print Studio
I am a printmaker, practicing one of the most misunderstood Art forms today.
With a 50 year background in printmaking, I create artistic imagery through the carving of wood, etching into metal, and manipulation of ink and paper, to create illusions with abstract marks that become something you might recognize.
I share with you, a collection of the whimsical side of my career. We cannot always take ourselves so seriously about the art we create. I have been creating and pondering the imagery of the Chinese Zodiac for many years, often referring to it as my therapy art. These animals have been created in two inch squares, and carved as large as four foot tall.
The animals of the Chinese Zodiac have become my friends, they comfort me, they challenge me, and they fill my idle hours with a productive outcome.
